An anonymous user presents a simple scaling solution for Ethereum 2.0 on Medium that is simple in design and for users with few technical skills. The author conducted a series of surveys to investigate the most effective way to design a solution.

An article published in Medium states that the upgrade is for people with technological knowledge and proposes a solution for Ethereum 2.0 based on the Argent wallet.

The arrival of Ethereum 2.0 is one of the most expected events the after the completion of the Bitcoin halving. The upgrade will increase the scalability of the network by replacing its consensus protocol from Proof-of-Work to Proof-of-Stake and by applying sharding.

Ethereum 2.0 is currently in the process of completing the technical requirements to launch its phase 0. To do so, it must complete the recently launched “Topaz” and “Schlesi” testnets. In addition, the final specifications must be implemented in the clients and a coordinated testnet must be launched, as stated by Afri Schoeden. A launch date has yet to be set.

Ethereum 2.0 for everyone

The publication was made on June 2nd by an author who was only called “heyheeyheeey”. The author stated that the Ethereum 2.0 will arrive soon, but the update can only be handled by people with technical knowledge. Therefore, he proposes a solution based on the wallet for beginners compatible with the DeFi sector, Argent, that is simple and for all users.

The author claims that his solution has not been sponsored in any way by anyone involved in Argent. In that sense, he took the initiative and intends to achieve the following objectives:

A prototype that shows how an ETH2 staking interface flows like on Argent.

Design should be on-brand both style and UX-wise.

Users should be able to stake in just a few clicks.

To achieve this, the author states that he used his own research and that it was provided by third parties such as the “Ethereum 2.0 Staking Ecosystem Report” by Consensys. Using this information and after conducting a series of surveys, the author was able to determine that there is great interest in using the Ethereum 2.0 Staking Ecosystem Report. Specifically of the survey participants, 72% said they were interested in staking and 44.1% said that their biggest obstacle to staking is its lack of simplicity, as can be seen below.

Based on these results the author was able to determine the needs of the users which are: the solution should be simple and safe, with a 3 clicks gateway, easy removal of the staked ETH, easy use for someone with little technical knowledge and a clean board. The author eexplains how he proceeded to design his solution, staying attached to the design of the Argent wallet which he claims is one of the best in the industry for its clarity.
